Set Up Blogs (Legacy, Before Version 31)

IMPORTANT — Read this first!

This article refers to the blog templates delivered with the theme prior to Version 31. If you are using the newer templates (from Version 31 onwards), please refer to the updated documentation here.

1Create a new blog or edit an existing one

Go to Settings › Tools › Content › Blog and select your existing blog or create a new one:

Learn how to Create a multi-language blog in HubSpot.

2Select blog templates

Under the Templates tab select the blog templates from your child theme.

There are four blogs in Act3, each one with its own Blog Listing and Blog Post templates. We designed each blog as a whole, so we strongly recommend using them that way. For example, if you want to use Blog 1, then you should select Blog 1 Post for your blog post template and Blog 1 Listing for the blog listing template. We don't recommend using different blog post and listing templates. So, they basically go in pairs.

3Change date formats

You can set your own date format in the Date Formats tab:

This is the format used in our previews:

Date format
MMM d, yyyy

4Disable or enable comments

You can disable or enable comments in the Comments tab:

Learn how to Set up and moderate your blog comments and how to Edit blog comment forms in HubSpot.

Please note:

The comment form can slow down your pages, especially if reCAPTCHA is enabled, so we recommend disabling comments if your blog doesn't need them.

5Set up subscriptions

You can enable blog subscriber notification emails from the Subscriptions tab:

Learn how to Set up blog subscription emails in HubSpot.

Once enabled, HubSpot automatically creates a subscription form for your blog, which is displayed according to your Blog configuration.

Each blog has its own subscription form, which you can find in Marketing › Forms using this naming format:

Subscribe to YOUR-BLOG-NAME Notifications YOUR-BLOG-ID (Language)

For example:

6Blog settings and labels

Each blog template in Act3 has its own settings and labels that can be edited and translated in global content attached to the template. You can access it by editing a blog post and look for the Blog settings module in the content sidebar:

There are separate settings for each of the four Act3 blog templates:

At the top, you will find some settings specific to that blog template:

Right after, you will find a Text group containing all the hard-coded text/labels that can be translated for that particular blog template:

Please note:

Any change you make to this global content will automatically update on all templates using it.
